Efteling Hotel Review

As part of my recent trip and visit for the very first time, I spent two nights at the Efteling Hotel.

One of the biggest reasons for staying on site is that it was just a few minutes walk into the park via its own dedicated hotel entrance and in addition you get into the park and select rides including Baron 1898 30 minutes before the park opened.

I booked everything myself online, and a few days before arrivalnI was invited to check in online which means that you get the key card for the hotel on your phone, so you don’t actually need to go to reception to check in (or even check out!).

On your arrival day, the key card activates in the morning so you can access the bag storage area to enjoy the park. I got there before opening, so on my arrival day, I was still able to access the park 30 minutes early!

You also automatically get your theme park ticket on the Efteling App aswell.

Of course you can still get the physical key cards from reception.

For the hotel, if you arrive by Public Transport, get off at the Horst bus stop (before the Efteling bus stop) you then take the short walk to the hotel via the underpass.

When it reaches 16:00 you are then able to access your room. On the Efteling app, the room key will active to allow you to access your room.

The room I had was of a great size, was very impressed with to be honest!

I didn’t have any major issues with the hotel apart from some small minor details such as the windows not being double glazed and as my room was facing the main road, you could hear all the traffic.

There was some small touch ups of paint being needed on the room, but it wasn’t anything too major.

The shower was also good and you had shampoo and body gel available, only small issue I had was the bath towels were rather small.

The hotel has got an onsite bar aswell with a good choice of drinks and food available aswell so I’d you decide not to eat in the one of many restaurants you can in the bar without the need of booking unlike the restaurants.

Another great part of the hotel is you can also meet some of the characters even in the bar!

I did also try food at the bar for both days of my stay and it was very nice!

Breakfast is also included, but for the hot food selection, I found this to be very limited with only pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon. You will also see a character or two during breakfast!

The staff throughout the hotel were all very friendly and helpful and nice to talk with.

On check-out, I just had to do it via the app to inform that I had departed, so again very easy to use and avoids any long queues at reception.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Efteling Hotel and would fully recommend it.

They do also have a new hotel currently under construction due to open in 2024, at the moment it only had fiundations built and hasn’t started vertical construction so it will remain to be seen if the new hotel will open for 2024.
