As part of a new set of blog’s on ThemeParkRM, I’m reviewing Theme Park’s I have traveled to recently and how accessible they are using Public Transport. As I don’t drive a big factor into visiting any Theme Park is how accessible it is using Public Transport only.

Thorpe Park for myself is one of the better options to travel to, as they have brilliant Public Transport available which is provided by Sullivans Buses in Staines. Appropriately named, the buses are called Thorpe Park Express.

The easiest way to get to Thorpe Park is from London, for myself I travel into London and then get on the underground to Vauxhall where I catch the quicker train to Staines, of course, you can also get the same train that starts off at Waterloo.

The train from Vauxhall to Staines only takes around 34 minutes if you catch the quicker train.

When you arrive at Staines, you just have to go over the footbridge to the ‘main’ side of the train station and you are able to catch the bus from there. During the main peak periods of travel as well, the bus service is very regular, meaning that you won’t need to pay for a taxi ride, unlike the service provided over at Alton Towers.

The great thing as well about the service provided for Thorpe Park is that the buses will run as late as 1 hour after parking closing time, meaning that the bus will always be running even when the park closes late during Fright Nights!

Another good thing is the bus will also pick up from Staines Bus Station as well, I have taken advantage of this a number of times as I have been staying recently at the Premier Inn in Staines due to great prices you can get there.

For me, in the UK it has to be the best option when using Public Transport to get to the park due to the ease of use and having a bus dedicated to just the Theme Park, of course that also means that depending on what time you are getting the bus, it can also be very very busy!
