On the 24th May, I visited Thorpe Park, you could say braved it foe the opening of Hyperia!
I arrived not lonv after 9am and the queue was already being held at Security due to the volume of people who got there super early, but by 10am I had entered ans joined the Hyperia Queue right away.
For my first ride I was very lucky as they got single riders to go in the same queue as RAP until the main queue so it didn’t take too long for me.
Before I knew it, I was entering the station around 1 hour 40 minutes after getting into Thorpe past the ticket barriers.
The station is simply amazing, they done a great job!
Before I knew it, I was sat on the train Row 7 in the right hand sear, the lap bars were checked and thumbs up given by Ride Ops, Kai was operating and everyone on the train was cheering and clapping as the train left the station and you could see his smile!
Going around the first bank and up the lift hill was just brilliant and before you know it, you are going back down, the speed and not only that the amount of air time you get is simply unbelievable, it really surprises you so much and I wasn’t expecting it.
Of course not long after the lift hill you have the ride camera.
Not my best picture, not sure why my eyes are like that, although I am very tired aswell from lack of sleep and all the travel and waiting.
Everyone getting off got a certificate aswell!
After having my first go in Hyperia, I have to admit it is now my new number 1 rollercoaster! It really has set the bar for rollercoasters in the UK, it has to be the best of any UK parks.
My top tip is don’t be scared by the size and height of Hyperia, just go for it, you really will love it and find yourself wanting to ride over and over!
There is also some entertainment that takes place in the plaza aswell although not easy to see unless you are there already and the ents team costumes are also brilliant!
Of course the hype for Hyperia will die down soon enough so the long queues won’t be as much of an issue in the future, it’s just understandable for the ride having just opened.
I will soon be uploading a small vlog from my trip aswell so keep an eye out for it!
