Scorpion Express first started its life as the Runaway Mine Train built in Mack Rides, opening in 1987.

The ride then closed at the end of the 2012 season and underwent a major refurbishment and re-opened in 2014 as Scorpion Express.

At the end of July 2022, there were reports and claims that the ride had caught fire, and the ride and also its surrounding area were closed off.

There has been no announcement from the park in regards to the ride and it’s future.  The ride remains on the website as ‘closed until further notice’.

With it being closed for so long, could this have been the end of the ride and maybe, Chessington are working on its replacement?
