Recently, I took a trip to Battersea Power Station following their refurbishment to check out Lift 109!
When you arrive for your timeslot, you are placed into a “group” where you have some time to read about the history of Battersea Power Station.
Following on from this, you are then called forward in your allocated group, where you have an ‘interactive’ experience of how the fire and water generated steam to power the turbines.
Following on from this, you are taken by lift to the 12 floor, where you then climb some steps to then take the 360-degree view lift up to the top of the chimney 109 meters up on the north-west chimney!
The experience was good, and you got brilliant views all over London with enough time to take a good look at all the sights before you are then lowered back down again on the lift.
You can read more about Lift 109 by clicking here.
I would fully recommend the visit, make sure you pick a day that has good weather to make the most of the views like I was lucky enough to be able to do, it takes around 40 minutes although I think I may have been there slightly less than that due to running late, so I didn’t get much of a chance to read about the history.
